  • Utility Rate Adjustments | Cave Spring Georgia

< Back Utility Rate Adjustments Aug 3, 2026 The City of Cave Spring would like to inform all utility customers that the updated utility rates for water/sewer, garbage, and fire protection services will become effective beginning with the next billing cycle. These adjustments were approved by the City Council as part of the City's ongoing commitment to maintaining reliable public services and ensuring the long-term financial stability of the City's utility systems. Revenue generated from these rate adjustments will help support the continued operation, maintenance, and improvement of essential infrastructure and services provided to our community. The rate adjustments will apply to: Water/Sewer Service - 2.5% Garbage Collection - $1 Increase $18.50 - $19.50 Fire Protection Fees - $1 Increase $17.00 - $18.00 These adjustments will result in an overall increase of approximately $2.90 per billing cycle for City of Cave Spring utility customers, reflecting the combined changes to water, garbage, and fire protection rates. Customers located outside the city limits will see only a 2.5% adjustment to water service rates, as garbage collection and fire protection fees do not apply. Citizens will see the updated rates reflected on bills issued on August 18, 2026. The City recognizes that any increase in utility costs impacts our residents and businesses. These adjustments were considered carefully and are necessary to continue providing safe, dependable, and high-quality services while addressing increasing operational, equipment, and infrastructure costs. Residents with questions regarding the updated utility rates are encouraged to contact City Hall during normal business hours. • Trash Collection Update | Cave Spring Georgia

Earlier this week, the City Manager met with GFL to formally discuss the City’s concerns and the many complaints we’ve received from our residents. During that meeting, GFL advised that residential trash collection would take place on Saturday as they work to restore their normal collection schedule. In response to those concerns, GFL sent a smaller truck through the city this morning in an effort to collect trash from residents who may not have received the updated schedule. The regular collection truck will still be making its scheduled route on Saturday. The City Manager sincerely apologizes for the confusion this has caused. Please know that he is working diligently with GFL to improve the reliability and consistency of trash service in Cave Spring. If your trash was not collected this morning, or if you did not have your cart out, don’t worry. The regular collection truck will be back on Saturday. Previous Next
