< Back The City of Cave Spring is looking to hire a Part-Time Police Officer Sep 8, 2026 The City of Cave Spring is accepting applications for a Part Time Police Officer. Job Description: Under general supervision perform law enforcement and crime prevention work for the protection of life and property; to maintain order, enforce laws and ordinances. Protect life and property within the City by performing a combination of duties: suppressant crime patrol, directing traffic, issuing citations, summonses, investigating traffic accidents, apprehending and arresting suspects, and to perform general and specific assignments from superior officers in accordance with established rules and procedures; provide quality police service to all citizens, visitors, and businesses in an efficient and professional manner. Perform other duties as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: May include, but are not limited to, the following: •Must be 21 years of age and possess P.O.S.T. Basic Law Enforcement Certification, not be on probationary status, or have any sanctions with P.O.S.T. Council •Must be a legal citizen of the United States •Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED •Ability to distinguish between colors and have vision correctable to 20/20 pursuant to visual acuity standards •Patrols the City and receives dispatched calls for service to help prevent crime, aid citizens needing assistance, and arrest violators of the law •Enforces traffic laws and ensure safe motor vehicle operation throughout the City •Prepares written reports as required by specific assignments •Investigates reports of criminal activity, interviews victims and witnesses, seeks, gathers and submits evidence for processing •Testifies in court and provide credible testimony in a court of law as required •Responds to emergency calls and routine complaints and disturbances and takes necessary action •Directs and escorts traffic, operates traffic radar monitoring equipment and issues traffic citations •Conducts investigations of traffic accidents and crimes against persons and property Starting Pay: $17.00-$19.00 based on experience To apply visit www.cityofcavespring.com to download the application. The Northwest Georgia Housing Authority hosted a groundbreaking ceremony in Cave Spring on Monday, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the community’s affordable housing efforts. The project will replace the existing 52 public housing and Section 8 units with 58 newly constructed affordable housing units. The new development will offer a variety of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments designed to provide quality, affordable housing for residents of Cave Spring. The Northwest Georgia Housing Authority is excited to bring newly constructed, high-quality affordable housing to the Cave Spring community. The development represents a significant investment in the future of Cave Spring and will help expand access to safe, modern, and affordable housing for local residents. < Back Statewide Level 1 Drought Aug 14, 2026 The City of Cave Spring would like to remind residents that Georgia remains under a statewide Level 1 Drought Response , originally declared by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) on April 27, 2026, due to ongoing dry conditions and impacts on water resources. At this time, outdoor water use is still allowed and remains unchanged under Level 1 guidelines. General landscape watering is permitted between 4:00 PM and 10:00 AM. While there are no new local watering restrictions, we encourage everyone to be mindful of how we use this important resource. Small conservation efforts can make a big difference. Simple ways to conserve water: • Check regularly for leaks inside and outside your home and repair them promptly. • Water lawns and landscapes only when necessary. • Adjust sprinklers so they don’t water sidewalks, streets, or buildings. • Avoid letting water run unnecessarily. Georgia EPD will continue monitoring drought conditions, including rainfall, stream and reservoir levels, groundwater conditions, and other indicators.
