Georgia Cities Week

Apr 17, 2026

At Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, the Council approved the Georgia Cities Week proclamation, declaring April 20–25 as Georgia Cities Week in conjunction with the State of Georgia.

The City of Cave Spring is a wonderful place to live and visit, and we are grateful for our residents and the dedicated staff who work hard each day to serve our community. Throughout the week, we will host several events to recognize both our residents and city staff.

Monday, April 20

Follow along on Facebook throughout the day to meet and learn more about the city staff and the individuals who help keep our city running.

Tuesday, April 21

We invite parents and children to join us in the Council Chambers at 5:00 PM for a safety program hosted by Police Lt. Debbie McCain and DDA Executive Director Marley Peals. This session will cover Stranger Danger and Cyber Security, with practical guidance for both children and parents.

Wednesday

City Hall will close from 12:00–1:00 PM to allow staff time to share a meal together.

Thursday

Join us at 5:00 PM in front of City Hall for our annual Touch-a-Truck event. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore public safety and waterworks vehicles and equipment.

Friday

Arbor Day Celebration at 10:00 AM in the courtyard behind City Hall. Tree arborist Anthony McClain will speak on the importance of trees and proper tree care. Seed packets will be available for the first 50 attendees.

In conjunction with Earth Day, Arbor Day, and Georgia Cities Week, the City will also host Community Clean Up Days again this year through our partnership with the BRACE grant. Residents are encouraged to participate by cleaning up debris and trash from their properties to help keep Cave Spring beautiful.

Dumpsters will be located at 3 Georgia Avenue, across from City Hall:

Friday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
